The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Ondo State Chapter elected new executives in her Annual General Meeting (AGM) and  the names of the newly elected executives to pilot the affairs of the Institute for the next one year are as follows:
1)Â Â Tpl. Prof. Ayo Olajuyigbe (FNITP) – Chairman
2)Â Â Tpl. Ogundipe Akindele – 1st Vice Chairman
3)Â Â Tpl. Ajiboye Peter – 2nd Vice Chairman
4)Â Â Tpl. Ogunseyi Ayodele – General Secretary
5)Â Â Tpl. Ijalana Ayokunle – Financial Secretary
6)Â Â Tpl. Ibitoye Rufus – Auditor
7)Â Â Tpl. Fadola Ruth – Treasurer
The Chairman-elect, Prof Ayo Olajuyigbe in his acceptance speech, emphasized that development in the state has over the years been constrained by the failure of the urban planners and government to properly foresee true urban development and place the same on the agenda. He also observed a weak linkage between the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners and government in Ondo State.
Prof. Ayo Olajuyigbe clamored for participatory planning process that would involve urban planners, regulators and the community. He reiterated that such a strategy is a formidable panacea to sustainable urban development.
Prof. Olajuyigbe further assured the State that Nigerian Institute of Town planners (NITP) under his watch is ready to partner, dialogue and engage the State government, Regulators most especially the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and other critical stakeholders to achieve comprehensive and sustainable physical development in Ondo State.
