HOCOS – HOME OWNERSHIP CHARTER OF ONDO STATE
(Get Your Certificate of Occupancy With Ease Today)
What is HOCOS
The Home Owner’s Charter Of Ondo State Scheme is a novel initiative of the Ondo State Government, aimed at ensuring that every resident of Ondo State who owns residential property has proper and genuine title documents to their properties.
The Scheme is created to allow home owners take proper documentation and regularization of their properties’ legal status. This would as well provide adequate data for government to facilitate provision of basic amenities needed in the development of the State.
What Necessitated This Initiative?
The records have it that most residential landed properties in Ondo State do not have registration documents titles. This exposes the properties holders to risks such as defective transfer of properties and encroachment among others. In addition, imperfect title documentation reduced the real value of the property and lessens its viability in the financial sector, thereby putting a question to its credit worthiness.
How Does The Scheme Benefit Property Owners?
Taking advantage of this scheme to regularize and secure the necessary title documents enable you to enjoy the following:
– A proper record that establishes your status of property ownership
– A meaningful discount will be available to you in the process of obtaining legal tile to the land (CofO) and your record will be on the digital database for quick verification and transfer.
– Huge increase in the value of the property which will boost its market value as buyers can doubtlessly transact knowing that the right title documentation is available.
– Ease of property use as collateral in legal transactions such as bank loans and other business transactions
– Less disputes over property ownership and ease of valid property inheritance or transfer to heir in the event of death
– Reduction in fraud related properties and problems associated with Omo-Onile/Ajagungbales.

Good. The present administration of Ondo State is doing well but it would have been better if the price for the C of O is not up to 150,000 since they want low income earners to be part of the program. Also who give out Deed of gift?
In government wisdom, a bungalow Cofo cost was pegged to #150k. Even if it’s #50k per plot, current situation in the country will still draw people back. I agreed with your submission
Good evening. I owned a 3 Bedroom bungalow in Sunshine Estate. Why the need for individual certificate of occupancy when there is a global one?
The fact remains that, there’s no global Cofo in Sunshine Gardens Estate. It’s even better for individual to have Cofo in the case of Sunshine Gardens
